View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast William Edward “Bill” Skinner, 78, retired musician, construction worker, and farmer, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Roger Beshears officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 20, 1944 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Jim Tom Skinner and the late Rosie Hue Scott Skinner. Mr. Skinner enjoyed playing the banjo. Survivors include his daughter, Billie Jean (Jonathan) Beshears; grandchildren, Kyler Beshears, Kalena (Ethan) Stone, Tripp Beshears; brothers, John R. Skinner, Larry (Bonnie) Skinner, sisters, Kathy Arzadon, Audrey Savage, Betty (Jerry) Cheek; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
