William Ronald "Ron" Gick, 67, retired employee of General Motors and resident of Greens Mill Road, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Godwin Chappell Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 27, 1950 in Muncie, Indiana, he was the son of the late Willard H. Gick and the late Esther Betty McNutt Gick Wright. He loved playing with his grandchildren and loved all animals, especially his dogs. Mr. Gick enjoyed boating and windsurfing. However, as a motorcycle enthusiast, his greatest joy was riding his Harley; and he was a member of the Muletown Hogs. Survivors include his wife whom he married February 24, 2006, Tricia Chapman Gick of Columbia; sister, Mary (Bruce) Ward of Muncie, Indiana; brother, Terry (Vickie) Gick of Muncie, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William Wright; and brother, Lester Gary Gick. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Thornton, Mike Fussell, Fred Haynes, Ed Hargett, Charlie White, Bruce Dixon, and Johnny Ray Shearin. Honorary pallbearers will include friends from General Motors and members of Muletown Hogs.
