Mr. William Lee "Hoss" Jones, 89, retired from the Carpenters' Union, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at his residence on the Hampshire Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with J. J. Jones and Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Worley Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Masonic Rites will be conducted during visitation at 7:00 p.m. by Columbia Masonic Lodge #31. The Maury County native was the son of the late William Wiley Jones and Oera Miller Jones. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Jones was a long-time member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ and a 50 year Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Christine Minor Jones; two brothers, Raymond Jones and Guy Miller Jones. Survivors include two sons, Eddie Lee (Denise) Jones of Hampton, Virginia and Steven Ray (Angie) Jones of Culleoka; four grandchildren, Andrea Denise Jones, Jessica Jones, Dakota Jones, and Tanner Jones; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Jones and Brianna Jones; and a sister, Thelma Johnston of Hohenwald. Active pallbearers are David Jones, Jonathon Jones, Luke Jones, Mark Jones, Joe Duncan, Ron Miller, and Bobby Lee Runions. Honorary pallbearers include members of Cedar Hill Church of Christ, Donald Scott, Murray Johnston, Ronald Johnston, William "Bill" Pulley, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McMeen, Jo Miller, Albert Scribner, Tony Ingram, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Staff of Hospice of the Highland Rim and staff of Home Health Care of Middle Tennessee.
