Mr. William Holmes "Bill" Kennedy, 80, retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission Company, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at his residence on Dry Fork Road in the Hampshire Community. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Kittrell Cemetery in the Cathey's Creek Community with Jonathan Jones, II officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Z Kennedy and Ann Peery Kennedy and a 1944 graduate of Hampshire High School. He was a member of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ina Wiley Kennedy of Hampshire; two daughters, Kaye (Larry) Bruce and Brenda Kennedy Mannon, both of Hampshire; four grandchildren, Rebecca Bruce, Laura Bruce, Sarah (Jason) Moore, all of Murfreesboro and Daniel Mannon of Columbia; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy (Bill) Page of Memphis; a niece, Jean Wilkes White of Memphis; and two nephews, Vince (Jane) Page of Katy, Texas and Richard (Tina) Wilkes of Mt. Pleasant. Pallbearers are Richard Wilkes, Vince Page, Daniel Mannon, Ronald Morton, Ronnie Johnson, Jeff Whiteside, Luke Jones, Dwight Savage, Paul Whiteside, and Stephen Worley. Honorary pallbearers include former employees of Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and men of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ.
