View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast There was rejoicing and trumpets blowing in heaven when William L. Jarratt was called home on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Owens, Ted Burleson, and Mike Kesler officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Giles County Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Army National Guard Relief Fund, 2530 Crystal Drive, Suite 13161, 13 Floor, Arlington, VA 22202, Culleoka Unit School ROTC, 1921 Warrior Way, Culleoka, TN 38451, or Cross Bridges Cemetery, c/o Bobby Fralix, 4948 Scott Branch, Road, Hampshire, TN 38461. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 4, 1930 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Thomas Jarratt and the late Dena Catherine Belew Jarratt. On February 19, 1955, he married Madeline Davis Jarratt who preceded him in death January 23, 2002. Mr. Jarratt served in the United States Army for two years and 42 years with the National Guard where he retired as Master Sergeant. Mr. Jarratt was a hard worker, having worked for Stauffer Chemical Company and Maury County Solid Waste Department for many years. A family man, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, animal lover, and always enjoyed banana pudding at family gatherings. He was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa (David) Au of Spring Hill; Jennifer (Mike) Reese of Columbia; son, Kenneth Allen (Julie) Jarratt of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Allen (Katie) Jarratt; Katherine (Matt) Rowell; Kayla (Aaron) Henslee; Lauren Reese; Anna Grace Reese; great grandchildren, William Noah Jarratt; Molly Kate Jarratt; very close nephew, Johnny (Kathey) Davis of Columbia; great great nephew, Jason Davis; brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Davis of Columbia; sister-in-law, Shirley Corder of Murfreesboro: nieces and nephews, Torrie Blackwood; Bobbie Lynn White; Tommy Davis; Lydia (Keith) Malugin; and Jason (Angie) Corder; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Elizabeth Davis; and brothers, Thomas Jarratt, Jr. and Jesse Jarratt. Active pallbearers will be Allen Jarratt, Steve Cofer, Johnny Davis, Jason Davis, Keith Malugin, Aaron Henslee, and Matt Rowell. Honorary pallbearers include William Noah Jarratt, Jeff Mingledorf, John Church, Al Smith, Sammy Chumley, Raymond Anderson, Tim Henderson, Wesley Uptain, Danny Staggs, Reverend Argine Hughes, Employees of Holland’s Pharmacy, Elders and Deacons of West Seventh Street Church of Christ, and Maury County Solid Waste Department.
