WILLIAM N. "BILLY" LADD Mr. William Newton "Billy" Ladd, 70, retired Director of the City of Columbia Department of Streets and Public Works and a resident of Wedgewood Drive, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Bobby Sampson officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. A native of the Carter's Creek Community in Maury County, he was the son of the late Thomas Newton Ladd and Jessie Whitaker Ladd and a graduate of Santa Fe High School. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Nelson Ladd of Columbia; three sisters, Janie Parrish, Doris (James) Cranford and Ruby Mai Curtis, all of Columbia; a daughter, Debbie (Dwayne) Alley of Columbia; a granddaughter, Rhonda Finerty of Nashville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Smith. Active pallbearers are Buford Kelley, Scotty Snedegar, Floyd Morton, Arch Warren, DeWayne Ware, Wendell Nelson, William Nelson.
