William Lloyd "Bill" Hayes

William Lloyd “Bill” Hayes, 86, retired employee of General Motors, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his residence on Creekstone Drive.             A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Bobby Kennedy officiating.  Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.  The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 -2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.  Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.             Born May 6, 1932 in Elliott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clifford Hayes and the late Bertha Kelley Hayes.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hayes loved God and loved to serve the Lord and others. He was a dedicated Christian for 56 years and had pastored from 1982-1990 in Mansfield, Ohio. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who cherished spending time with his family.             Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Ella Greene Hayes; daughters, Karen Sue (David) Barnes, Sharon Marie Kennedy, Pamela Faye (Donnie) Thomason, Patricia Lynn (Charlie) Weirick; grandchildren, Aaron Michael (Jamie) Hall, Kimberly (Ed) Ahlquist, Joseph Barnes, Brian (Susan) Barnes, Sarah Kennedy (Caleb Merrill), Bobby (Lauren) Kennedy, Erica Nichole Moyer, Glenda Thomason, Samantha (David) Howell, Joshua William (Alyssa) Lookabaugh, Brandon Lookabaugh; great grandchildren, Eddie Ahlquist, Kelli Ahlquist, Reagan Hall, Elizabeth Kennedy, Benjamin Merrill, Chantel Prince, Danielle Thornsberry, Ashlynn Moyer, Brianna Moyer, Carleigh Thomason, Donnie Ray Howell, Sam Howell, Jordan Lookabaugh, Kayden Lookabaugh; granddaughter-in-law, Charlotte Moyer; sister, Joyce (Dave) Oberley; and several nieces & nephews.              In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Adam Moyer; sisters, Irene Whitt, Reva Ison, Beulah Roseberry, Bernice Skaggs, Janice Christy, Lois Fannin; and brothers, Major Hayes, Cliff Hayes, Charlie Hayes, and Curtis Hayes.
