WILLIAM GEORGE PATTON William George Patton, 74, retired employee of Union Carbide, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Charles Hardison and Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Samuel Webb Patton and Annie Amesia Johnson Patton. He was married to Francis Louise Gilliam Patton who preceded him in death on June 10, 1999. Mr. Patton served in the U. S. Armed Forces. Survivors include one daughter, Carolee (Terry) Anderson of Columbia; two sons, Ricky Wayne (Shelia) Patton and William Michael (Tammy) Patton, both of Columbia; two sisters, Juanita (Glenn) Inman of Franklin; Roberta McPeak of Spring Hill; seven grandchildren, Jason Anderson, Misty Anderson, Walter Anderson, Heather Patton, Chelsea Patton, Anthony Patton, and Samantha Patton, all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Jones Patton. Pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Walter Anderson, Kenny Inman, Bobby Inman, Anthony Patton, and Jimmy Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Union Carbide.
