View Funeral WebcastWilliam Ray Jones, 52, shop foreman and mechanic for Columbia Construction Company for 35 years, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his residence on Tanyard Hollow Road in the Culleoka Community. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Rush officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mooresville Baptist Church, 1053 Byrant Cemetery Road, Lewsiburg 37091. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. He was a native of Maury County and member of Mooresville Baptist Church. Mr. Jones loved farming, working on his equipment, and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Judy Richardson Jones of Culleoka; son, Chris (Kelley) Jones of Mt. Pleasant; his mother, Virginia Louise Stofel Jones of Columbia; sisters, Dorothy Ann (Gary) Stewart of Columbia and Katherine Faye Massey of Columbia; brother, Jeffery Wayne (Tonya) Jones of Columbia; grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Kane Jones, and Aaron Cummins; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jackson Jones. Active pallbearers are Mike Henley, Walter Dugger, Kerry Huckaby, Jerry Sharp, William Sparks, Donnie Craig, Orville Lindsey, and Barney Cannady. Honorary pallbearers include members of Mooresville Baptist Church and employees of Columbia Construction Company.
