William Rollin Renfro

William Rollin "Bill" Renfro, 75, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at his residence on Clear Creek Road in Pulaski. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Arlington Cemetery with Pastor Raymond Johnson officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 9 - 11 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Willis Noble Renfro and Freida Horner Renfro. He was a 1951 graduate of Central High School. On December 20, 1958 he married Peggy Marie Nicks Renfro who preceded him in death on January 13, 2004. Mr. Renfro served in both the U.S. Navy and the U. S. Air Force. He retired from Wal Mart in Selmer, Tennessee where he worked in retail management. Prior to going to work for Wal Mart he worked at Grants Department Store in Columbia. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Renfro was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by a daughter, Melanie (Richard) Edwards of Columbia; a son, William Wesley (Sunshine) Renfro of Ramer; a brother, Donnie (Charlene) Renfro of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Jean (Clinton) Damron and Pat Renfro King both of Columbia; three grandchildren, Richard Cade Edwards of Columbia, Madison Brooke Renfro and Gracie Marie Renfro both of Ramer; three step-grandchildren, Jana Beth, Jay, and Garrett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Nobline Renfro. Pallbearers will be Jon King, Kelly Carr, G.W. Horner, Harry Edwards, Jimmy Damron and Phil Sellers. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of Clear Creek Lake.
