Mr. William Louis Scott, 88, long-time carpenter and farmer, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at his residence on Goshen Road in the Santa Fe Community. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. James Lunsford and Andrew Louis Scott officiating. Burial will be in Fly Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fly Church of the Nazarene, 5288 Leiper's Creek Road, Santa Fe 38482. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Williamson County, he was the son of the late Rhoda Jane Southern Scott and Reddick Rail Scott. He was a long-time member and served as superintendent of Fly Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Scott's years of dedication to his community were honored in March, 2006 with dedication of the "Louis Scott Bridge" on Goshen Road. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his childhood sweet heart, wife of 35 years, and mother of his 11 children, Martha Fly Scott, who died in 1969. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Ruby Rebecca Scott, his second wife, Gladys Culberson Fly Scott, a brother, Calvin Scott, and 3 sisters, Jewell Scott Potts, Edna Scott Bradford, and Opal Scott McCord. A hero to all who knew him, he is survived by 4 daughters and 6 sons, Louise (Jimmy) Faulkner of Santa Fe, Janie (John) Dressel of Houston, Texas, William (Allene) Scott of Columbia, Calvin (Addie Bea) Scott of Santa Fe, Wayne Scott of Santa Fe, Kenneth (Martha) Scott of Santa Fe, Jean Clark of Santa Fe, Annette (Ronnie) South of Columbia, David (Carol) Scott of Santa Fe, and Reddick (Debbie) Scott of Santa Fe; a sister, Marie Paysinger of Nashville. He is also lovingly survived by grandchildren, Reatha (James) Irwin, James (Evelyn) Faulkner, Debbie (David) Hill, Cheryl (Dean) Johnson, Jerry (Cindy) Faulkner, Alan (Pam) Faulkner, Kevin (Amy) Scott, Candi (Rodney) Adams, Danny Lawson, Tim (Bonnie) Scott, Crystal Jenkins, Charles Scott, Greg (Rhonda) Scott, Jennifer (C. J.) Allen, Savanna Clark, Joey (Julie) South, Josh South, Derrick Scott, Drew (Amanda) Scott, Mallori Scott, and Dayton Scott.Louis will certainly be missed by his great-grandchildren, Anthony (Miranda) Gordon, Chris Gordon, Brad Hill and Ashley, Brent Hill, Brian Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Katie Faulkner, Ashley Faulkner, Scotty (Afton) Faulkner, Justin (Brandi) Faulkner, Allie Faulkner, Kallie Faulkner, Cody Lawson, Mikayla Scott, Dillon Scott, Shelby Scott, Phillip Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Christopher Scott, Morgan Scott, Colby Ray Adams, Alexis Allen, Peyton Allen, Jackson South, and Justin South.He loved being a part of 5 generations, including 2 great-great-grandchildren, Beckham Faulkner and Cason Hill.Active pallbearers are great-grandsons, Brad Hill, Brent Hill, Scotty Faulkner, Justin Faulkner, Anthony Gordon, Chris Gordon, Bryan Johnson, Dillon Scott, Phillip Jenkins, and Jerry Jenkins.Honorary pallbearers include Louise and Carl Gardner, Jewell and J. W. Shouse, Cecil Baker, Sandra McCord, Willie Goodman, Helen and Henry Harris, Charlie Scott, Tony Sowell, John Fly, Ryan Jenks, Dr. Darrell Rhinehart, Dr. John Maloof, Dr. Moataz Toban, Margaret Brady, John Dressel, Jimmy Faulkner, Ronnie South, Robert Lawson, Allene Scott, Carol Scott, Addie Bea Scott, Martha Scott, Debbie Scott, and Linda Crigger.Mr. Scott was an honorable man who was loved by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his many family members, neighbors, and friends.
