William Marion "Billy" Warf, 84, long-time resident of the Santa Fe Community, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Thomas Warf and Lillie Hogan Warf. On September 2, 1959, he married Doris "Dot" Howell Warf who preceded him in death July 15, 2005. He attended Santa Fe School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Warf retired from Union Carbide as a truck driver, before devoting his life to farming. He was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church. Survivors include his niece, Sandra (Larry) Adkison of Santa Fe; nephew, Travis (Helen) Warf of Santa Fe; great nephews, Lane (Robin) Warf, Michael (Donnise) Warf, Marty (Cissy) Adkison, Cassie (Crystal) Adkison, Derrick (Jessica) Adkison, Brent (Kelly) Warf, and Troy (Charlene) Warf all of Santa Fe; special great great niece Sarah Rose Warf and eighteen other great great nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edison Warf, Leslie Warf; nephew, Gerald Warf; and special dog, Pepper. Active pallbearers will be Brent Warf, Troy Warf, Marty Adkison, Cassie Adkison, Derrick Adkison, Justin Warf, Jarred Adkison, Tanner Warf, and Blake Adkison. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Roberts, Ricky Roberts, James Connelly, Roger Sutherland.
