Miss Willie Lee Cannady, 81, retired seamstress and resident of Davis Avenue, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Ursery and Danny Ursery officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late William Theodore Cannady and Etta Florence Williamson Cannady. From 1944 to 2000, she worked in the clothing manufacturing business in Maury County including Dixie Manufacturing and Creekwood. She loved flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Sue Graves of Columbia; one son, Alton "Pete" (Denise) Cannady of Culleoka; one sister, Patricia Tommy Ursery of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Susie Daniels and Petie Cannady, both of Columbia; Robert Graves and Tim (Melissa) Cannady, both of Culleoka; twelve great grandchildren, Britney, Seana, Callum, Summer, Alania, Kasen, Callie, Courtney, Dalton, Kirsten, Lucas, Layla Jo; one niece, Teresa (Robert) Taylor; eight nephews, Roy (June) Osborne, Don (Patricia) Osborne, Wayne Osborne, Joe Osborne, Carl Osborne, Billy Ursery, Danny Ursery, David Ursery; and her beloved cat Tipsy. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Cannady and one sister, Johnnie "Mutt" Osborne. Pallbearers will be Mike Osborne, David Osborne, Jason Osborne, Jerry Osborne, Mike Davidson, and Randy Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Dixie Manufacturing.
