View Funeral WebcastMrs. Willie Mai LeMay Harper, 92, died peacefully Sunday, February 15, 2009 at her residence on Greely Drive surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Glenn Alexander and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1864, Columbia 38402 or Graymere Church of Christ Building Fund, 1316 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was one of 11 children and eldest daughter of the late Love Webb Anglin and Addie Kelley Anglin and long-time member of Graymere Church of Christ. Mrs. Harper retired after 30 years of employment with the Tennessee Knitting Mills and Maury Manufacturing Company. She was an avid seamstress. She loved camping and fishing with family and friends throughout her life and enjoyed frequent visits to the Great Smokey Mountains. She and her husband traveled extensively across the United States and especially enjoyed several trips to Puerto Rico. In recent years, she enjoyed the pleasure of visiting in her company of friends at McDonald's restaurant on Trotwood Avenue. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Charlene LeMay of Columbia; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brent and Dawn LeMay of Columbia; sisters, Lucille Potts of Columbia and Carol Ballard of Summertown; brother, Wayne (Helen) Anglin of Winter Haven, Florida; step-daughter, Beverly Harper (Edward) Wathen of Owensboro, Kentucky; step-grandchildren, Vince (Jen) Cornet of North Carolina, Ann Beth Wathen Odonnel of St. Louis, Missouri and Susan Wathen Leucht of Owensboro, Kentucky; six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Anthony Harper, August 14, 2000, six brothers and a sister. Active pallbearers are Jerry Jeter, Keith Baker, Lonney LaFever, Clay Harris, Johnny Potts, Sanford Potts, Jim Farris, Marlin Church, Howard Loudermilk, and Larry Ridley. Honorary pallbearers include members of Graymere Church of Christ, friends at McDonald's restaurant on Trotwood Avenue, Dustin Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, Kenneth Love, Gene Fitzgerald, Claude Fitzgerald, J. W. Hargrove, A. C. Jennings, Butch Shrader, Keith Daughtry, Jim Reedy, George Brazelton, Frank Alexander, Robert Davis, Max Davis, and Bootie Maxwell.
