View Video Tribute Wilma Billington "Pydle" Damron, 81, longtime resident of Jefferson Drive, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Northview Church of Christ with Jeremy Butt and Mike Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Tuesday from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. at Northview Church of Christ. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Billington and the late Maggie Chunn Billington. On April 7, 1956, she married Oscar Morton Damron who preceded her in death March 23, 2008. She enjoyed traveling and maintaining a beautiful lawn; and above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Damron was a longtime member of Riverside Church of Christ and a charter member of the more recently constructed Northview Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Dawn (Scott) Liggett of Columbia; son, Ricky (Kay) Damron of Columbia; sisters, Norma Billington of Columbia; Faye (Billy) Greenfield of Nashville; Avon (Don) Clemmons of Lebanon; brothers, Will Billington and James "Buster" Billington, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Justin Damron of Dickson; Rachel (Caleb) Garrett, Chance Damron, Kristin (Clay) Colvett, Sam Liggett, and Emma Liggett, all of Columbia; great grandchild, Giles Reese; sister-in-law, Margaret Billington of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Billington; and brothers, Wayne Billington and Ruben Billington. Active pallbearers will be Justin Damron, Chance Damron, Scott Liggett, Sam Liggett, Caleb Garrett, and Clay Colvett. Honorary pallbearers will include Jefferson Drive neighbors and special friends, Boyd & Lois Gilliam, Gene & Adgil Howell, Mary Evelyn Pickle, Wayne & Jeanne Harris, and Marvin & Sharon Bailey.
