Wilma Crabtree Harris

Mrs. Wilma Mattie Bee Crabtree Harris, 100, widow of Joe McCown Harris, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Jeremy Butt officiating. A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. in Riverview Cemetery in Fayetteville. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lincoln County native was the daughter of the late William Fulton Crabtree and Mary Jane Crabtree and attended schools in the Hughey and Booneés Hill communities. Mrs. Harris came from Fayetteville in 1957 to make her home in Columbia. She was a sales lady for Evans Dress Shop for several years and had previously worked at Brenés Dress Shop in Fayetteville. She was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ and Auditorium Adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include daughters, Odahleen éDeannieé Logue of Shelbyville and Jessie Lee (Ray) Burt of Columbia; grandchildren, Scott Burt, William Logue, Jr. and Gina Kerra Logue; great-grandchildren, Tristen Logue and Caleb Logue; and a special friend, Martha Cathey. She was preceded in death by a sister and 3 brothers. Active pallbearers are Ray Burt, Scott Burt, William Logue, Jr., Roy Cathey, James Burt, Tom Burt, David Greenfield, Bill Crabtree, and Jerry Church. Honorary pallbearers include Porter King Sunday School Class and Auditorium Adult Sunday School Class at West Seventh Street Church of Christ, Dr. Amit Choski, and Dr. Shawn Gentry.
