Wilma Jean White Tidwell

Wilma Jean White Tidwell, 78, longtime resident of Azalea Drive, died Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Glenn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Pet Pals of Maury County, P. O. Box 1623, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Elbert "Eb" White and the late Thelma King White. On August 25, 1957, she married Clifford Jay Tidwell, who preceded her in death April 26, 2003. Mrs. Tidwell was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School; and in the 1970's was employed by Dr. Harry Helm and assisted in the Tuesday/Thursday school program at Graymere Church of Christ. She had more recently been employed by Lynch Equipment. She had many pets throughout the years and loved every one of them. She had been a member of Graymere Church of Christ for over forty years. Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Tim) Brewer of Columbia; son, Mike Tidwell of Columbia; grandchildren, Cassie (Josh) Tramel of Columbia; Caitlyn Tidwell of Memphis, Brennan Willingham of Nashville; Holly Anne Brewer of Columbia; great grandchild, Reece Elizabeth Tramel; sister, Becky (Mike) Lynch of Columbia; brothers, Roy White of Columbia; Ronald (Nancy) White of Greenbrier, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Reese (Elizabeth) Tidwell of Fairview; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean White; brother, Freddie Ray White; and sisters-in-law, Rita White and Glenda White. Active pallbearers will be Mike Lynch, Mark Curry, Todd Curry, Michael Cox, Josh Tramel, Justin Curry, and Chandler White. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Kelley and Charles Rash.
