MRS. WILMA TURNER Mrs. Wilma R. Johnson Turner, 70, retired employee of Weather Tamer and resident of Cherry Street, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Roberts and Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James W. and Viola Collins Johnson. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William C. Turner of Columbia; two daughters, Janice (Charlie) Bennett and Mildred Lovett, both of Columbia; two sons, Michael Morton and Steven (Lisa) Morton, both of Columbia; one brother, Ray A. (Shirlie) Johnson of Hayesville, Kansas; four sisters, Nola Benderman (Doug) Martindale, Dorothy Himes, Mary Agent, and Doris J. Johnson, all of Columbia; five grandchildren, Keith Brady, Stephen Morton, II, LeeAnn Cothron, Ken Lovett, and Bethany Morton; and one great-grandchild, Cydnee Cothron. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas Johnson, George W. Johnson, and Mahlon Johnson. Pallbearers will be Keith Brady, Ken Lovett, Stephen Morton, II, James Johnson, Rob Shackelford, Cameron Cothron, David McCrary, and Neal Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Weather Tamer.
