Mr. Winford Tomblin, 82, retired machinist for Ford Motor Company, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his residence on Word Road in the Duck River Community. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Russell Ward and Rev. Jeremy Witter officiating. Burial will be in Sheboss Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Navy during World War II and was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was first married March 25, 1946 to the former Ruth Golden, who preceded him in death June 12, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Von Tomblin of Harts, West Virginia; seven daughters, Anna Lee Woods of Quebec, Canada, Sarah (Melvin) Witter of Duck River, Wilma (Chuck) Littleton of East Jordan, Michigan, Bonnie (Daryl) Stacy, Carol (George Kolbe) Tomblin, Betty Tomblin, and Katherine Tomblin, all of Dearborn, Michigan; a son, Clifford Tomblin of Nashville; two sisters, Este Woody of Maryville and Jewell (Billy) Scott of Scottsdale, Arizona; a brother, Luther Tomblin of Harts, West Virginia; three step-daughters, Lois Jean Barker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Joann Filinger and Cherylene Workman, both of Harts, West Virginia; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons and a three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin children; a sister, Carrie Workman; and three brothers, William Tomblin, Eugene Tomblin, and Jesse Tomblin. Pallbearers are Andrew Witter, Nathan Witter, Jeremy Witter, Charles Littleton, Chuckie Littleton, Sam Witter, and Shane Stacey.
