Winifred Higgins Hardison

Mrs. Winifred Higgins Hardison, 87, retired manager of S & H Honey Farms and resident of the Nashville Highway, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Calvin Hardison officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc., 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Higgins and Alice Moore Higgins. She attended Maury County schools and was a member of the American Legion Lady's Auxiliary. Mrs. Hardison was a member of Antioch Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Janice (William) Osborne of Columbia; two grandchildren, Mrs. Phoebe (Jeff) Zimmer of Nashville, Wendell (Teresa) Cheek of San Antonio, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Wendy Lucus, Lori Scott, John Cheek, Rachel Cheek, Molly Zimmer; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Wendell Cheek, John Cheek, Bobby Compton, Steve Compton, Wray Wright and Jeff Zimmer. Honorary pallbearers will be James Wilkes, Robert Wilkes, Jason Dodson, Bill Dodson, Jack Craig, Kile Patrick, Gene Cheek, Bill W. Liggett, Jerry Turner, Larry Turner, Jimmy Walters, Junior Watson, Jimmy Brown, Doug Chumbley, June Patrick, Faye Pyland and elders and deacons of Antioch Church of Christ.
