View Funeral WebcastWynona Barnes Doggett, 71, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at her residence on Terrapin Branch Road near Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in the West Point Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Albert Barnes and Clara Rader Barnes. She was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School and member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Doggett worked in several Columbia law offices and was legal secretary to the late Senator Edward C. Blank at the time of his death. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Hardison of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters, Holly Hardison, Hannah Hardison, and Gabrielle Johnson of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Samantha Hardison, Cameron Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Jordan Johnson, and Leighton Johnson; twin sister, Leona (Arlan) Cummins of Pulaski, two other sisters, Anna Ruth Priest of Nashville and Marie (Henry) Lee of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Hendley and Lillian Fraser and the father of her daughter, Bobby Joe Doggett. Pallbearers are B. J. Johnson, Edward Johnson, James Cyphers, Randall Hendley, Gary Hendley, and Henry Lee.
