Zackary Taylor "Zack" Dismukes, 76, agent for Keller Williams Realty Company and resident of Zion Road, died Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Presbyterian Church with Rev. Arch Warren and Rev. Don Wahlman officiating. Burial will be in Zion Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to Zion Christian Academy, 6901 Old Zion Road, Columbia 38401. He was a long-time member of Zion Presbyterian Church, serving in various capacities over the years. He held the position of Elder Emeritus, Vice President of Zion Cemetery Association and was a former member of the Board of Trustees of Zion Christian Academy. Mr. Dismukes was a nationally-known livestock Judge and Polled Hereford Breeder Consultant. He was a member of the Maury County Cattlemen's Association, American Hereford Association and Maury County Board of Realtors. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Thompson Dismukes of Columbia; a daughter, Elizabeth Clare Dismukes (Ralph W.) English of Columbia; a son, Sumner Smith (Sandra) Dismukes of St. Peter's, Missouri; grandchildren, Zackary Neil Dismukes, Rachel Amanda Dismukes, Wade Thomas Dismukes, Taylor Claire Mosley, Jessica Elizabeth English, James Scott (Kelli) English and Alan W. English; sisters, Selene Woodson of Murfreesboro, Lucy Rice of Murfreesboro and Laura Hooper of Waverly; brothers, Granville Sumner (Barbara) Dismukes, Jr. of Murfreesboro, Avent Dismukes of Murfreesboro, Walter (Lucille) Dismukes of Alabaster, Alabama and Frederick (Nancy) Dismukes of Franklin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Behm.
