Ronald Ray Lankford, age 69, resident of Thompson's Station, TN died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at his home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 222 West Seventh Street in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 120 Aldersgate Way, Franklin, TN and Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in Columbia. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.Born September 14, 1947 in Paris, TN, he was the son of the late James Ray Lankford and the late Neil Vinson Lankford. Ronny enjoyed a long career in banking and was currently employed by the Bank of Dickson. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant, the University of Tennessee, and the Wharton School of Banking. He also served in the Tennessee National Guard.In 1975, Ronny was elected the Mayor of the city of Mt. Pleasant, and was the youngest individual to be elected to that office. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Gilliam Lankford, one son, James Ryan Lankford, three step-sons, Everett Ray Stocstill, Jr., George Bradley Stocstill and John Robert Page, one sister, Carole Lankford Simmons, one brother, Timothy Vinson Lankford and one grandson, Colton McMillin Stocstill.
